Department of public health dentistry, earlier known as department of preventive and community dentistry. The department was established in the year 2007. The main functions of the department are serving the needy, under privileged locality peoples through the outreach activities. Outreach activities includes

• Free dental screening & Treatment camps.
• Dental screening & Treatment via PHC in collaboration with TN Govt.
• Stimulating, Implementing dental health awareness to the people through mimes, social dramas, short films, health education posters & videos, rallies.
• Another important part of the department is “RESEARCH”, encourage students in performing research activities.

In the last three years 42578 patients are benefited via camps and 24381 patients are benefited via PHCs.
